Also known as Seam Binding Tape Vintage Seam Binding, Crinkle Ribbon to name a few. Rayon was widely used in the WWII years for its silk like qualities. It usually has a high luster quality giving it a bright sheen..... but for our dull prim purpose there is a way to dull it down and grunge it up.
There are many ways to change your ribbon or crinkle it. From sprays, dye pots and so on.... I like to take 3 different colours and tie a knot at the top, twist until they are super tight. then slip one end thru the other to hold together. Take a small pot, add water and dry detergen, add your twists of ribbon and bring to a boil. I boil these about 10 to 15 min. Drain. You can set in the sun to dry or unravel, put a weight on them and blow dry.
You now have over-dyed crinkle ribbons!
